Job Vacancy Psychologist

Contract Type 3 months with the possibility of extension
Hours p/w Full time, 40 hours p/w
Overview

The target of this role is to assess the mental health needs of beneficiaries in our housing, employability, educational and art  programs. Contribute in designing mental health programs for Lesol. Consult and support Lesol teams and provide mental health support for cases of either refugees or locals.

Key objectives/responsibilities of the role

The psychologist will participate in designing and implementing Mental Health programs.

  • Design and facilitate psychosocial group interventions/activities.
  • Monitor, plan and facilitate educational, recreational, integration activities.
  • Co-design the personalised case plan/case management services with respective colleagues.
  • Conduct psychological assessments, when needed, and plan appropriate interventions for the beneficiaries.
  • Establish a network with external psychosocial / support actors on the island.
  • Respond to mental health emergencies.
  • Coordinate external self care training and supervision for the Lesol team in collaboration with external actors.
  • Consulting LeSol in self care and preventing burn out strategies.
  • Ensure Confidentiality and proper documentation of case files.
  • Adhere to LeSol policies and do-no harm principles.
  • Monitor the quality of care.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation concepts.
Required experience
  • University Degree in Psychology.
  • Experience in working with migrant populations especially vulnerable individuals, including women, minorities and children.
  • Experience providing MHPSS services to survivors of torture and/or war violence strongly prefered.
  • Experience in working with interpreters is preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to communicate in English and preferably in Greek or be knowledgeable on the Greek system.
  • Experience with Google Suite, Windows Platform (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc), Dropbox.

  • Demonstrates initiative and is comfortable working in a group, as well as independently.
  • Flexibility, creativity and understanding of the political context of refugee work.
  • Ethical standards and humanitarian values.
  • Able to handle confidential and sensitive information.
