Operational Context

Lesvos Solidarity (LeSol) is a grassroots organisation based on Lesvos Island, Greece. LeSol has been operating since 2012. LeSol’s community believes in an open society free of racism, fascism, and discrimination. LeSol is an assembly-run organisation and the participation of refugees in shaping knowledge and skills is vital for integration and social inclusion.

Job Vacancy On Site Fundraiser based in Mytilene
Project / Department Fundraising team
Contract Type 3 months with the possibility of extension
Hours p/w Full Time 40hrs per week
Overview of Project and Position

Responsible for building, strengthening and expanding relationships with individual donors, organizations, volunteers and supporters.
Public relations in support of the ongoing programs of the organization in Mytilene.

Key objectives/responsibilities of the role
  • Outreach for new collaborations
  • Proposal Writing
  • Budgeting
  • Reporting
  • Following up collaborations
  • Participating in social events and networking opportunities and Public presentations of LeSol
  • Collaboration with the Advocacy and Media teams for fundraising communication planning
  • Communicates with Donors
  • Collaborates with Finance Team in:
    - Budget drafting
    - Reporting drafting
    - Allocating funds for various LeSol needs
  • Expand LeSol’s network during conferences and events LeSol participates in Lesvos
  • Implementation overview of programs in the field.
  • Program’s Data monitoring and sharing with the team.
  • Collaborating with Program Coordinators and establishing needs
  • Collaborating with Program Coordinators for program implementation challenges and needs.
  • Reporting to the fundraising team any challenges that may need to be communicated to donors.
  • Accompanying future and existing donors to Mytilini
  • Participating in tasks of the other team members when required and relevant to the role (as drafting plans for Fundraising and communication strategy, SOPs).
  • Supports and runs crowdfunding campaigns.
  • Creating and sharing newsletters new and ongoing.
Required degree/experience

Preferably 3 year experience in donor management and proposal writing as well as budgeting. Degree in Humanities, Journalism or Communications.

  • Understanding of the refugee crisis in Greece
