Overview of Project and Position

The Construction work focal point (CWFP) is the focal point for the assigned activities of the project(s) in relation with construction work, providing expert input where required and engaging in constructive dialogue with all relevant stakeholders including the AMKE.


The CWFP organizes the ongoing tasks assigned to him/her. These tasks involve ensuring team well-being, monitoring project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, expenditures, and purchasing and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner.


To be successful as a CWFP, you will need to be able to work in a fast-paced, volatile environment, be competent in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, and have exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. A bachelor's degree in a related field of study and at least three (3) years of relevant experience is required for consideration.

Key objectives / responsibilities of the role
  • Ensuring all construction-related project outputs are delivered on time and in full, overseeing staff/beneficiary working hours and related expenditures.
  • Monitoring the involvement of workers and evaluating their progress and acquisition of new skills.
  • Supporting development and implementation of project strategy, proposing project changes if applicable.
  • Performing or delegating all validation tests after each step of the construction is accomplished.
  • Undertaking project tasks as required.
  • Assessing construction-related project risks and issues, providing solutions where applicable.
  • Supporting (including writing of) all relevant financial and narrative reports.
  • Updating key documents of good practices and lessons learned on a weekly basis.
  • Following budget and complying with all established procedures for financial management. Proposing changes where necessary.
  • Handling all construction related administration like in- and outgoing correspondence with service suppliers.
  • Ensuring contracts of suppliers / service providers are met on time and in full, reporting fulfilment (or issues) to Procurement / Logistics / Finance. Addressing and resolving issues with suppliers / service providers, if applicable. Following Procurement requirements of grant agreement.
  • Chairing and facilitating daily construction team meetings, preparing necessary material for these meetings to facilitate communication and maximise learning opportunities.
  • Documenting, implementing, and following-up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
  • Participating in final evaluation and exit interviews of participants.
  • Participation in the organisation’s meetings and events and act as the spokesperson of the program on stakeholders’ visits.
  • Assist other departments based on capacity.
  • Delegate with MHPSS team and Educational team for the individual planning of each intern.
  • Ensuring the implementation of the Health and Safety Protocols.
Required degree/experience
  • Three years’ experience in a related field.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English is required, Greek is desired, French, Farsi, Urdu, Pashto, Dari, Kurdish, Arabic is an asset.
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks including competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Work experience in a multicultural environment.

Lesvos Solidarity is an organisation registered with the Ministry of Asylum and Migration and has ISO quality management procedures. This requires comprehensive reporting of quantitative and qualitative data and information.

In addition, the organisation works collaboratively across departments. This requires team members to support each other in their tasks to meet additional needs from time to time. All team members are also asked to actively participate in events, seminars, workshops, and discussions related to both their role and the work of the organisation.
