Case Worker – Case Management

Project / Department MHPSS- Mental Health and PsychoSocial
Contract Type 3 months with high possibility of extension
Hours p/w

Part Time, 30 hrs per week

Overview of Position

Case management, monitoring of services and needs, proposing and planning further interventions and best practices.

Key objectives / Responsibilities

Responsible for the intake/referral process to the apartment running form MHPSS program including:

  • case management,
  • case planning and
  • bureaucratic procedures in collaboration with the external services and stakeholders being responsible
  • Welcome the beneficiaries and explain the way the apartment functions in collaboration with the other MHPSS members. Conduct the intake interview
  • Conduct individual and group sessions
  • Co-design the case plan of the beneficiary and conduct the case plan reviews Conduct sessions with the beneficiaries for monitoring and extension of their needs and vulnerability, as well as, the provision of psychosocial support.
  • Conduct feedback sessions with the beneficiaries aiming to improve the housing conditions and the provision of the services
  • Conduct sessions with the beneficiaries relevant to integration
  • Conduct sessions with the beneficiaries relevant to external housing programs following the referral pathway to external actors
  • Participate in the responsible team for constructive conflicts resolution and crisis management process/emergency interventions
  • Accompany the beneficiaries in social services
  • Coordination and arrange the registration of beneficiaries in education.
  • Mediation between parents and school teachers if needed.
  • Monitor and record incidents of racism, discrimination, xenophobia, violation of human rights etc.
  • Follow the recording / reporting system of ISO
  • Ensure and respect confidentiality
  • Ensure appropriate care and support regardless of individual characteristics.
  • Attend team, supervision, training meetings, workshops and working groups with external stakeholders
Required degree/experience
  • Studies in Social Work, or Social Sciences 
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a case, or social worker. The knowledge and experience of the migrant and refugees’ context is highly appreciated
Required qualities
  • Cross Cultural Awareness and flexibility
  • Computer literacy & numeracy
  • Well organised and efficient
  • Good interpersonal & communications skills
  • Native in Greek. Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
  • Any other language and a driving license will be considered an asset
