How to make a referral

How to make a referral

Lesvos Solidarity provides refugees with shelter and hospitality but not registration. The refugees who stay at our camp are some of the most vulnerable: disabled, sick, pregnant and the families of victims of shipwrecks. We also host people who claim asylum or are part of relocation or reunification programme. We offer food, clothes, hygiene kits, psychosocial support and medical assistance. We also organize activities for children, language classes and social support.

Vulnerability criteria for refugees– only refer cases that fall into these categories:

1- refugees with disabilities

2- refugees with injuries needing medical follow up (post hospital)

3- single heads of households with children

4- single females at risk

5- elderly at risk

6- LGBT persons at risk

7- families of shipwreck victims

8- families with young children

9- families of hospitalized refugees in need .

10- refugees part of the relocation program.

Unfortunately, we cannot shelter people with former drug addictions. In addition, any resident with a medical case who refuses treatment at the hospital will not be admitted to Pikpa. Please also note that any psychiatric cases should be referred to and dealt with by the hospital.

Any other case can be discussed on case by case basis with the referral focal points of Lesvos Solidarity.

 Please call: 00302251062000 or 00306932644196

BEFORE YOU CALL, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CAN GIVE US THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

  • Your name (for us to know who is sending people)
  • How many people
  • Whether they are registered
  • Reason of referral
  • Health status and special medication (please take copies of any medical records if possible)
  • How long they need to stay
  • Who will arrange transport

BEFORE YOU CALL, PLEASE NOTE THAT:

  • Even if a case meets all the criteria, NEVER bring someone without calling us first.
  • Lesvos Solidarity has limited transportation options. If your referral cannot get registered before they come, you are responsible for picking them up and getting them registered.
  • If possible, call in the morning. In case of emergency you can call in the night.
